CONGRATULATIONS! You've decided to go with DayLIte. Now what? How do you make the most of it?

Thats where we come in. Cassin Computer Consulting provides installation, consultation, and training services for DayLIte.

A typical installation starts with a consultation.

• The key to getting the most power out of DayLite is to asses how you do business. Here we find out how well DayLIte fits your business model and what DayLIte can bring to the table to improve how you do things.
• Then we asses the logistics. How many users will be accessing the database? Will DayLite have it's own server (recommended)? Will there be remote users connecting to sync up their information? Do you want to restrict access to certain functions of the database from other employees? Will you need custom forms made? Do you need to migrate form letters? Do you want to link DayLIte to a phone product like Phone Valet? Etc.

Then onto the Database.

• How do you get all of your data into DayLite? Data migration is the biggest hurdle you will face in getting started with DayLite. The cleaner your data the easier the transition. Sometimes this is straightforward and sometimes it's complicated. We determine if we can get all of your information over from what ever database you are currently using.
• Variables that effect the migration are: How many custom fields do you currently have, number of records, how cleanly the data has been entered (i.e. misspellings, info added to incorrect fields), duplicates, software you are migrating from, etc.

Server and Client Setup.

How many users will there be? Does everyone have equal access to the database? Where is he server? Can the setup be done during business hours? How do we manage the transition and keep you running? Are you migrating from a PC? Are you currently using Apple Mail? Etc.

Back up.

• How will you
back it up? Will you be taking a copy of your database offsite every night (recommended)? Do you have an existing back up plan? Do we need to coordinate this with your IT department?

Follow up.

It's been a few weeks and everything is working great, but you have questions.
• Now is the time to set up any training to address your employees questions and to tweak the work flow if needed.
